The TGIF (Thank God It's Friday) meetings consist of a series of occasional research/intellectual seminars conducted by faculty and graduate students. The series received its name from the Chair of the School of Foreign Languages, Associate Professor Dr. Anchalee Wannaruk to mark the end of the teaching week as a period of intellectual refreshment and stimulation in a relaxed, informal, atmosphere. The TGIF seminars have sought to achieve this objective by addressing language teaching and research issues that are somewhat off the beaten path but with the potential to prompt attendees to investigate new research directions and to trigger discussion.
