Laos Visit |
For more than a decade, the School of Foreign Languages has been accepting graduate students from ASEAN countries who are interested in pursuing a graduate degree in English Language Studies. On 9-12 January, 2014, the Chair of the School of Foreign Languages, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anchalee Wannaruk together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Channarong Intraprasert, Dr. Dhirawit Pinyonatthagarn and Dr. Suksan Supasetseree visited the National University of Laos, Vientiane to share information about the School’s curriculum. The visit marked the start of the School’s academic collaboration with the National University of Laos.

Trip to Ayutthaya: “Learn Thai Culture: Live in Harmony”. |

The Chair of the School of Foreign Languages, some faculty members and staff as well as the Graduate Students went to Ayutthaya on September 19-21, 2013. The aim of the trip was to improve the students’ knowledge on Thai culture by visiting historical places, museums, and observing the people’s way of life in that area.
Ayutthaya is famous for its ruins. It was the capital of Thailand for 300 years and was moved to Bangkok 400 years ago. With its grandeur and richness, it was chosen to be the place to visit to learn more about Thai culture. |
2012 Foreign Language Annual Conference and Seminar |

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anchalee Wannaruk, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Channarong Intaraprasert, and Dr. Sirinthorn Seepho attended “2012 Foreign Language Annual Conference and Seminar” held at Jiamusi University, Heilongjiang Province on 4-9 July 2012. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Channarong Intaraprasert presented his research on “Trends of Research in Language Teaching.” In addition, the MA and PhD programs in English Language Studies were presented to English teachers, students and the conference participants. |
ASEAN Exhibition 2012 |

School of Foreign Languages will hold an ASEAN exhibition on 12-13 march 2012 at B building. With the objectives to educate and preserve the art and culture of ASEAN community, this public event will feature information and culture from 10 ASEAN countries which will be packed into various show, games and exhibition

Workshop on “Corpora for language learning and linguistic research” |

The School of Foreign Languages will conduct a workshop on “Corpora for language learning and linguistic research” by Associate Professor Dr. Mark Richard Lauersdorf, Department of Languages and Linguistics, Director of Language Technology and Director of Research in Computing for Humanities (RCH), University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, USA. Professor Lauersdorf will be in Bangkok for the postponed AsiaCALL2011 International Conference where he is one of the keynote speakers and he will come to SUT immediately afterwards.
The workshop will be held on February 13 (M), 2012, 9.00-16.00 in Seminar Room 1, Academic Building. |
