TELL Unit
The Technology-Enhanced Language-Learning (TELL) Unit is located in the School of Foreign Languages at Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. It consists of both academic faculty and graduate students (master or doctoral level) and is under the direction of Professor Dr. Andrew Lian, a pioneer of TELL in Australia and the current President of AsiaCALL (the Asia Association of Computer-Assisted Language-Learning). The TELL Unit is dedicated to nurturing and advancing all aspects of high-quality research in TELL, including the development of large-scale models for technology-supported autonomous language-learning.
The TELL unit will achieve its goals by engaging in fundamental as well as applied research with a special focus on the uses of technology to enhance language-learning. In addition to performing and publishing research, the TELL Unit will make its reflections and findings visible at the local level through its theoretical and practical contributions to graduate and undergraduate teaching at SUT as well as nationally and internationally through its interactions with professional bodies in Asia and across the world. Where appropriate, it will act as an incubator for faculty and graduate projects and, where necessary, will also act as a consultant or advisory body to the School of Foreign Languages, the University and the community at large in matters relating to the field of TELL.
While the Unit is physically based in Nakhon Ratchasima, it extends itself, via collaborative links, into other Departments and professional associations throughout Thailand, Asia and the World.
